The Session Timeline
What to expect
How do you want to be photographed? Every session begins with an initial Zoom consultation for us to get to know one another and begin to create a mood board for your dream photoshoot. We'll discuss session details, your unique vision, and your product needs. We generally book up two months in advance. To ensure your maternity session can be booked during the ideal window for a photoshoot, please reach out for a consultation during the middle of your second trimester.
Maternity sessions are generally held between weeks 28-35 of your pregnancy. Each session is custom designed to suit your style and vision. On the day of your photoshoot, you'll arrive at our private Oakland studio, set out your outfit options, grab some refreshments, and get your glam on by a pro hair and makeup artist. I will fully guide you through a series of poses and authentic emotions that best capture your personality and complement your figure.
Within two weeks after your portrait session, we'll meet again over Zoom for a private reveal and purchasing appointment. I will present you with a gallery of your best images, and we will narrow down your favorites and choose the best products to display your stunning images. Each image you purchase will be carefully and artfully retouched.
Your images are presented in a custom-designed album, framed, or matted and presented in an heirloom folio box and ready for pick up within 4-8 weeks. Corresponding digital images are included with every print purchase.

I provide maternity, personal branding, In-Home newborn, and modern boudoir portrait sessions.

I have decided to take this newborn stage a bit more slowly than I did with my first and have not set a date for my return to in-studio portrait work at this time.

Q: When should I book my Session (Maternity)?
A: I find maternity portraits work best between weeks 28-35. At that point, baby bump looks great, and clients typically haven't hit the "Ugh, everything is uncomfortable. I don't want to take photos!" phase. Please keep in mind we typically book out about two months in advance. To be sure you can schedule your session at the best time, reach out to me as soon as you’ve decided you want to go on this journey with me as your photographer.
Q: What should i wear (Maternity)?
A: We will discuss this at length during your wardrobe consultation. Form-fitting body con dresses, cute lingerie, leather jackets, and flowing fabrics all make for stunning maternity options. With your session, you will have access to my client wardrobe. I have many different fabrics I use for draping or creating faux dresses from, and a few bodycon dresses and jumpsuits.
Q: When and where do sessions take place?
A: Sessions are scheduled Tuesday-Thursday and take place at our private studio in Oakland, CA.
Q: How Much SHOULD I PLAN TO INVEST?
A: Every client's product needs are unique, and we can accommodate a wide variety of budgets. Clients typically spend between $2,500 to $8,500 on collections of heirloom folio print boxes or custom albums and wall art. Every print you purchase comes with its corresponding digital image. We will review package options during your consultation, and you will be sent our complete printed price list in your welcome packet.
Q: How long will my session take?
A: Regular sessions are approximately 4 hours. The first hour and a half will be dedicated to hair and makeup, with the final time dedicated to getting your supermodel on. I completely understand that mamas are not comfortable standing for long periods of time and will need breaks. We will absolutely work around your needs and abilities - And we will keep you hydrated!
Q: Do you sell digital images?
A: Every print from your folio box, album, or wall art comes with its corresponding digital image of the same size. As your own personal artist, I passionately believe in printing quality portraits for you to enjoy off-screen for years to come and do not offer digital-only packages.

Pregnancy might be the first time some women feel comfortable or have accepted their glorious curves. For others, it’s a celebration of the body they have come to feel even more in love with, as it literally gives life to another human! It’s also completely normal if you need some help falling in love with all of the changes your body has gone through or if you need a little confidence boost to go with that growing baby bump.
In any case, I'm here to help you capture this incredible journey and ensure you feel gorgeous, pampered, and confident throughout the process.
Every session at Andrea Liora Studios includes glam time with a professional makeup artist. That means you get to take the first 60 to 90 minutes of your session just to relax and be pampered by a pro. Starting out in the glam chair helps clients feel their most confident once it’s time to step in front of the camera. It also gives you a moment that is just for YOU. Time for self-care may feel super limited once baby arrives (if it isn’t already), so sit back, grab one of our snacks and sparkling water, and enjoy! This entire day is all about you.
