Once you decide to book a boudoir or maternity session with me, the planning process begins! The first thing I send my clients is a detailed session prep guide. This guide discusses things like what to wear, how to prep for your best photo-ready skin, how to overcome nerves, Do’s and absolute DO NOT’s for your photoshoot, AND a little Pinterest homework assignment 🙂
Most people have no idea how to verbalize the “look” or “vibe” they are going for. Creatives have a tough time putting those thoughts into words – so I get it! One of the best ways I’ve found for us to start planning your session together and to be sure we’re on the same page is for you to pin other boudoir photos you like. Pin anything that catches your eye! It may seem totally random, but I can almost always find a clear theme in your Pins.
This does NOT mean that we will be recreating another photographer’s work or that I will photograph you in a completely different style than mine. It simply helps me understand what you’re drawn to and allows you to be part of the planning process in a fun way.
For instance, some clients will send me a Pinterest board full of boudoir photos, all of a different aesthetic or style. Still, I’ll notice that the majority of their pins are anonymous or faceless photographs. I instantly know they’re looking for a more mysterious vibe, images that they can use as possible artwork in their homes, or that they really want to focus on particular body parts (clavicle, back, cleavage…)
On the day of your session, after you’ve been glammed up, we’ll discuss your Pins together to be confident we’re on the same page and have a game plan to make the most of your shoot time!
