“Boudoir without the bed,” “Modern, artistic boudoir,” and my personal favorite, “minimalist – cool girl – ooh la la.” 😂 These are a few ways you’ll hear me describe my photography style.
I provide a modern, artistic approach to boudoir and maternity photography at my San Francisco Bay Area studio. I love:
- Focusing on the subject and her unique form by using strobe lighting to create beautiful highlights and gorgeous shadows across the body.
- When clients incorporate some cool/edgy fashion into their images, like opting for black bodysuits, corset tops with pants, leather jackets, or tall black thigh-high boots to mix in with their lingerie looks. An oversized simple white button-down shirt is always incredible!
- Black and white images will forever have my heart, but I provide my clients with a healthy mix of color and black and white portraits.
- Throwing some wind into your hair to create drama! I have a giant blow dryer I call my “Beyonce wind machine.” Here’s an example on our Pinterest page.
- Clients who find me because they want to create artwork of themselves – for themselves!
- Creating timeless images that you will enjoy for years to come. For me, that means avoiding using props and big accessories or incorporating bedroom scenes that can date your images as popular interior design style changes.
It’s important to discuss style because boudoir can be powerful and even life-changing. It can also be damaging if not approached professionally and executed in the vein a client has envisioned. I want EVERY woman of EVERY age and EVERY body type to feel seen, absolutely gorgeous, and confident in her skin. That process starts with selecting a photographer whose style resonates with you. A photographer who will see you, the way you want to be seen.
